USE 4-WHEEL STEER TO HELP MANEUVER IN TIGHT SPOTS
Available 4-Wheel Steer offers greater vehicle maneuverability while parking at low speeds and on tight off-road trails. The system increases low-speed agility and allows the driver to achieve a tighter turn circle. 4-Wheel Steer is also designed to help improve vehicle stability when towing a trailer.
This feature also includes Cadillac Arrival
4-Wheel Steer has three modes: Automatic, Cadillac Arrival Mode and Off.
- 4-Wheel Steer is engaged on your vehicle in Automatic Mode by default.
- In Automatic Mode, at low vehicle speeds, your vehicle’s rear tires will turn in the opposite direction of the front tires for maximum maneuverability. This is referred to in your Owner’s Manual as “out-of-phase” turning. It lets you achieve a tighter turn radius.
a. At higher vehicle speeds, the rear wheels steer in the same direction as the front wheels to improve handling and stability. This is referred to as “in-phase” turning.
- To turn Rear Steering off, the vehicle speed must be less than 1.2 mph (2 kph) prior to pressing the button. On most vehicles, open the Controls app on your center display, then tap the Rear Steering button. Tap it again to turn it back on.
- Some vehicles with 4-Wheel Steer also have Cadillac Arrival Mode is a 4-Wheel Steer mode, which lets the rear wheels turn at the same angle as the front wheels at low vehicle speeds up to 25 mph. To learn more about this feature, go to the Cadillac Arrival Mode Support Hub Article.
