ACCESS CARGO SPACE UNDER THE HOOD
The eTrunk™ is a convenient storage compartment under the hood. It can be used to store groceries, gear and more — and may even have one or more power outlets. On most vehicles, you access the eTrunk™ via a Power Hood.
Accessing the eTrunkâ„¢ with the Power Hood (if equipped):
Make sure the vehicle is in PARK before operating the Power Hood. Turn the feature on in your center display (Go to Vehicle Settings > Comfort and Convenience > Power Hood Opening, then select: Maximum or Custom) to open and close the Power Hood as described below.
Using your key fob:
Find the Power Hood button (shows an image of a vehicle with an open hood) on the key fob.
1. To open, press the Hood Open button twice.
2. To close, press the Hood Open button twice, holding it down the second time until the action is complete.
From inside the vehicle:
1. To open, press the Hood Open button to the left of the steering wheel once.
2. To close, press and hold the Hood Open button.
3. Releasing the button will stop the hood motion.
Note: Additional functions of the interior and key fob button vary by vehicle. See your Owner’s Manual for details.
From outside the vehicle:
If the vehicle is locked, make sure the remote key is within 3 feet (approximately 1 meter) of the front of the hood.
1. Find the exterior button on the front fascia (if equipped). Not all vehicles with a Power Hood have this button and placement on the fascia will vary.
‒ See your Owner’s Manual for the exact location.
2. To open, press the exterior button once.
3. To close, press the exterior button once.
Pull to Close (on select models):
1. Pull the hood down until you hear a chime, then let go.
2. The hood will continue to lower automatically until fully closed.
Operating the eTrunkâ„¢ and Power Hood without electric power:
There’s a manual release cable located on the lower-left side of the instrument panel for service and/or emergency use (loss of vehicle electric power).
To open the hood manually:
- Firmly pull the hood release cable twice.
‒ Go to the front of the vehicle and lift the hood to the desired height.
To close the hood manually:
- Pull the hood down.
Note: Always check to make sure the path of the Power Hood is clear of obstructions such as people, tools and snow before operating.
Warning: You or others could be injured if caught in the path of the Power Hood. Always supervise the operation of the Power Hood until it is fully opened or closed and keep hands and other body parts away from the hood when in use.
