ABOUT FLEX CAM

Flex Cam helps give you a better view of the interior of your vehicle while you’re on the road by connecting your GM vehicle with a compatible GoPro camera.

By pairing a GoPro camera to your vehicle, you’ll be able to wirelessly view and control live GoPro footage of your vehicle’s backseat or rear right from your center display, to help you watch over your children, your pet, or just delicate travel items.

How It Works

Flex Cam wirelessly connects select GoPro models with GM vehicles to give you an easily accessible, safer way to view your vehicle’s backseat.

  • This feature is currently available for the 2024 model year Cadillac LYRIQ, followed by 2023 LYRIQ availability via a software update.
  • Compatible GoPro models include the HERO10 Black, HERO11 Black and HERO11 Black Mini.
  • Footage streams directly to the vehicle’s center display.

To use Flex Cam, you first have to download the Flex Cam app through your vehicle’s center display or through the myCadillac Mobile App. The app has a one-time cost of $50.00 (plus tax).

Mounting Your GoPro

GM recommends using the Head Strap 2.0, GoPro Pole Mount and GoPro Gumby Flexible Mount (purchased separately) to secure your camera. This may help ensure the camera stays secured during your drive and in the event of a crash, preventing the risk of harm to the GoPro and vehicle passengers. The approved mounting locations are: the middle back of the driver's head restraint, the back of the passenger front head restraint, or first-row passenger or driver-seat head restraint. Please refer to your GoPro’s instruction manual for more information.

Pairing Your GoPro with Your Vehicle

To pair your GoPro camera with your vehicle, follow the steps on your center display. Do NOT follow the directions on your camera’s screen.

For a full step-by-step guide to the pairing process, you can also refer to our article, How to Use Flex Cam.

Your vehicle must be in PARK to set up your camera or to adjust the settings.

Viewing the Live Feed

After you set up your camera, the icon of your connected camera should read “Start Camera Feed.” Select it to begin recording.

A pop-up will ask you again to select Record. Once you do, you’ll be taken to the live feed screen, where you will see the GoPro footage displayed on your screen as well as three buttons reading Refresh, End Feed and Record. If the GoPro is already recording, the third button will not be available.
