HOW TO GET STARTED WITH FLEX CAM

Before you can livestream in-vehicle footage from your compatible GoPro camera to your center display, you’ll need to follow a brief set-up process. The process begins with acquiring Flex Cam and takes you through pairing your preferred camera to your vehicle.

This feature is currently available on the 2024 model year Cadillac LYRIQ (and, later, the 2023 LYRIQ through a vehicle software update). Flex Cam does not come with the purchase of a vehicle. Vehicle owners must purchase a compatible GoPro model (a HERO10 Black, HERO11 Black or HERO11 Black Mini), as well as a camera mount, sold separately, and pair it with their vehicle.

DOWNLOADING FLEX CAM

You can shop for the Flex Cam upgrade on OnStar.com, through an advisor or through the myCadillac mobile app. There is a one-time charge of $50.00 (plus tax). Once purchased, you’ll see a pop-up on your center display that reads “Flex Cam is now available.”

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The first time you launch Flex Cam, you will be asked to accept the Terms and Conditions. Declining the Terms and Conditions will prevent you from using Flex Cam.

Check the “Accept” box to accept the Terms and Conditions or select “View” to be taken to the User Terms page.

GETTING STARTED AND MOUNTING YOUR GOPRO

Select Get Started on the Flex Cam main menu.

The name of your GoPro should appear on the next screen. Once selected, you’ll be asked to mount the GoPro in your vehicle. Please use GoPro mounting hardware or a strong strap to help ensure the camera stays secured.

PAIRING YOUR GOPRO CAMERA WITH YOUR VEHICLE

Once you have purchased Flex Cam for your vehicle, follow the steps below to activate Flex Cam.

  1. Select Flex Cam by clicking the Flex Cam App icon on your Center Display.
  2. Follow the exact on-screen instructions to onboard and pair your eligible GoPro camera.
  3. If you are experiencing any issues while pairing, close, reopen and restart the onboarding process.

VIEWING THE CAMERA FEED

After you set up your camera, the icon of your connected GoPro camera should read “Start Camera Feed.” Select it to begin recording.

A pop-up will ask you again to select Record. Once you do, you’ll be taken to the live feed screen, where you will see the GoPro footage displayed on your screen as well as three buttons: Refresh, End Feed and Record.

For your security, please don't include personal info such as phone number, address or credit card details.

Q&As

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO MOUNT THE GOPRO CAMERA?

GM strongly suggests mounting the camera on the rear-facing side of the driver’s seat head restraint cushion using a strong strap or GoPro-brand mounting equipment. This will help ensure the camera stays in place in the event of a crash. Please refer to your GoPro’s instruction manual for more information.

CAN I CONNECT MORE THAN ONE GOPRO CAMERA?

Flex Cam will remember up to six cameras. However, only one camera can record and stream to the vehicle’s center display at a time.

DO I HAVE TO PAIR MY GOPRO CAMERA EVERY TIME I WANT TO RECORD?

No. To set a camera to connect instantly, touch “Options” on the desired camera’s icon in the main Flex Cam menu. From the “Options” menu, you’ll be able to set the camera as “First to Connect.” That camera will now automatically connect when your vehicle starts.

WHERE IS THE FLEX CAM VIDEO STORED?

All video is recorded and stored on your paired GoPro — GM does not have access to any Flex Cam footage.

WHAT CAN I DO IF MY GOPRO WON'T CONNECT?

Try the following solutions:

  1. Confirm that your GoPro is in pairing mode.
  2. Search for the desired GoPro in the center display again.
  3. Turn the GoPro off, then on again.
  4. Remove the GoPro’s battery to force a reboot.

DOES THE FLEX CAM APPLICATION REQUIRE CELLULAR SERVICE IN ORDER TO FUNCTION?

Although a data plan is not required to use the app, if your vehicle is in a “No Cellular Service” area, your ability to purchase, update or utilize the app may be interrupted until a network connection is reestablished.
