HOW TO CONTROL VEHICLE FEATURES WITH THE COMMAND CENTERS
The available Front Command Center and Rear Command Center (if equipped) are two centrally located touch-screens designed for the front and second row. You can use them to control vehicle functions, like air conditioning, heat, seat temperature, seat position and more.
VIRTUAL CONTROLS IN THE FRONT COMMAND CENTER AND REAR COMMAND CENTER (IF EQUIPPED)
The Front Command Center is mounted to your center console in front of the cupholders. The rear screen (if equipped) is slightly smaller than the front screen. Both are separate from the center display and other infotainment screens in the vehicle, providing direct access to specific vehicle functions via virtual controls.
Whether you have a front screen only or both screens, as well as where your second-row screen is mounted, depends upon your vehicle’s equipment.
Some features that you are accustomed to controlling using a switch, knob or button in the vehicle, or through the Settings menu, may be accessed with the command center screen(s).
Front Command Center:
- Climate controls for all rows
- Charge port door
- Door operation and locks and window locks
- Head-Up Display (HUD)
- Seat temperature and position for both the first and second row
- Seat massage settings
- Heated steering wheel
- Universal Remote System
- Parking assist features
- Interior lights
Rear Command Center, if equipped:
- Climate controls for the second and third rows
- Door operation and locks and window locks for the second row
- Seat temperature and position for the second row
- Seat massage settings for the second row
- Interior lights
- Ambient lighting (There’s no access to ambient lighting through the Front Command Center. Front occupants must access this function through the center display)
NOTE: Climate functions can only be controlled through the Front Command Center (and Rear Command Center, if equipped). There are no physical climate control buttons in vehicles with this feature.
Using the Command Center Screens
Controls Screen
Vehicles with a Front Command Center (and Rear Command Center, if equipped) have the same Controls app in the bottom App Tray of the screen(s) that is found in the center display of vehicles without a Front and Rear Command Center.
Press the Controls icon to access a screen displaying these functions:
- Drive: Tap for Traction Control, Lane Assistance, One-Pedal Driving, Speed Limiter and Auto Hold.
- Doors & Windows: Tap to get to a screen for opening, closing and locking Power Doors (and locking windows).
NOTE: This screen displays when you first enter the vehicle and whenever it’s in PARK. - Safety: Tap for Child Safety Locks, window locks, Rear Control Lock and Conversation Enhancement.
- Lights
- Night Vision: Tap to adjust the brightness and contrast of this feature.
- Rear Steering: Tap to turn the rear steering feature on and off.
- Head-Up Display (HUD): Tap to adjust your HUD display.
Vehicle functions you can access by tapping the Controls icon in the Rear Command Center (if equipped) may include:
- Doors
- Ambient lighting
- Conversation enhancement
Quick Controls
Pressing the two arrows in the middle of the top navigation bar provides a shortcut to some commonly used functions, such as:
- Universal remotes
- Glove box release
- HUD
- Park
- Child safety locks
- Power window lockout
- Rear control lock
NOTE: Enabling the rear control lock function locks out all rear screen controls, including climate controls. There will be a message on-screen to indicate that the display has been locked.
Default Screens (Doors Screen and Climate Screen)
Some displays will appear on the command center screen(s) without the user having to navigate to them. For example, a screen showing the status of the front and rear doors (open or closed) will automatically display on the Front Command Center (and rear screen, if equipped) when the vehicle is in PARK.
When driving, equipped screens switch to climate controls (air conditioning, heat, vent direction) to ensure occupants can easily control the cabin temperature.
Doors Screen
From this screen, you can operate the vehicle’s power doors by touching the desired door image and swiping to open or close. You can also open the glove box and the charge port door by pressing the respective icons.
Climate Screen
There are no physical climate control buttons in vehicles with a Front and Rear Command Center. The temperature and vents can only be adjusted through the Front Command Center (and Rear Command Center, if equipped).
If you leave the climate control screen to access other vehicle functions while driving, the display will default back to the Climate screen after 30 seconds of screen inactivity. This happens with both the Front and Rear Command Center screens.
To navigate to climate controls from another screen, press one of the first two icons in the bottom navigation bar. The first icon, showing a seated person with wavy lines at chest level, will take you to a screen where you can:
– Adjust the temperature of the air from the vents.
– Control the level of the air from the vents.
– Access other primary climate control functions (e.g., defrost, max, air recirculation).
– Press Auto to have the air direction and fan speed automatically maintain the temperature selected by the occupant (if your vehicle is equipped with ClimateSense Automatic Climate Control).
NOTE: With automatic climate control, making individual feature adjustments through the Front Command Center (or Rear Command Center, if equipped) will automatically disable the system until it is reselected on the screen.
The next icon (a rectangle with wavy lines over it) will take you to a screen where you can:
– Adjust the direction of the vents to your preference (Windshield, Face, Feet).
Seating Controls Screen
To control your seat temperature, position and massage settings:
1. Press the seat icon (a seat with a gear) at the bottom of the screen.
2. The screen will display two seat images that mirror your vehicle’s seats.
– A set of tabs above the seat images lets you toggle between rows (Front or Rear).
– When viewing the front-row seats, tap the Rear tab to switch rows; when viewing the second-row seats, tap the Front tab to switch to the front row.
– The rear screen (if equipped) has an additional seat icon in each bottom corner that can be tapped to access seat controls for the corresponding seat.
– The heated steering wheel temperature control icon only appears with the front-row seat images.
3. Press the Temperature, Massage or Position tabs in the top navigation bar to get to screens for adjusting the desired seat function.
– Temperature: Set your heated and ventilated seats (and the heated steering wheel when front-row seats are displayed).
– Massage: Select from five massage types and set the massage intensity from 1-3; scroll to 0 to turn Massage Seats off.
– Position: Move the seat forward, back, up or down, plus recline it and adjust the seatback side bolsters and cushion bolsters.
- Memory Seats: Touch and hold the Exit or Save Position button to save the current position for the selected seat.
- Briefly touch the Exit or Save Position button to recall the set position.
NOTE: Unlike climate controls, seating controls can be adjusted using either the vehicle’s physical controls or the virtual controls found in the Front Command Center (and Rear Command Center, if equipped). For details on physical seating controls, see How to Operate the Seat Lumbar Adjustment and How to Use Memory Seats.
Leg Room Feature
Under the Position tab of the Seating Controls screen in the Rear Command Center (if equipped), there is an option to move the seat in front of the second-row passenger on the side opposite to the driver. This control will only move the front-row passenger seat. It allows the occupant behind this seat to have more leg room, if desired.
